a nice summery twist on the classic hefe, but its not as good as the dry hopped one in my opinion, lacking some of the complexity and tasting a little forced to me. i dont think it is, but the lemon aspect seems a little artificial. not quite like one of those phony shandy types or anything, but it doesnt seem like natural zest and juice, there is some sweetness and some light metallics to it, and it sort of breaks down the base beer a little bit to me. i can see wide appeal here though, especially in the summer time, and its real light and bright and refreshing when its cold, but it just doesnt have quite the cohesion of the dry hopped edition, maybe there is just too much of the lemon that it seems more of a flavored beer or soda or something. i still think the beer is well made, and the lemon sort of shows the lighter side of the base beer, which has me thinking about how this actually could evolve into a cool series of shandy type beers, blueberry would make sense, even strawberry, maybe next summer?
