Poured a seethru copper body with decent head and no lace. The aroma has a grainy hoppiness along with some fruitiness that reminded me of raisins for some reason. Smooth, light body, with an herbal, soapy hoppiness that feels like tea with touches of something like honey and citric sweetness along with some minor dark fruits and this beer is enjoyable and very easy to drink.

Great lacing. Light aromas of caramel, dark fruits, medicinal and syrupy notes. Flavors are bready, dark fruit with a medicinal tinge, caramel, roasted nuts. Very dry finish. The kind of beer you have to pump the breaks on chugging.

This is an amazing beer. One of the best Dunkels I have ever had. Very dry, slight roast, very smooth. Had on draft at Bierstadt. The perfect dark lager.

clear, medium brown in color, thick off-white colored head. good head retention. pleasant aroma of toasted bread crust and light caramel. great depth to the flavor in the taste, with a short finish, making it very drinkable. smooth mouthfeel.

Clear, dark amber color; dense and lively carbonation; thick, frothy off-white head, long-lasting with sticky rings of fingers of foam. Nice toasted grain aroma blended with suggestions of roasted nuts. Lightweight flavor; mild caramel and toffee notes with a bold bitterness. Medium body feel; smooth and slick on the palate; slight presence of warmth.
I was hoping for a more malty presence in the flavor. Some sips came across watery and flat, others did seem richer and fuller in flavor. Actually, after writing all before this sentence, as the beer warms up, the flavors have emerged, richer and more consistent, so I've adjusted my ratings accordingly. Overall, a pretty decent dark lager.
ABV: 5.5%; pouring temperature: 44.6 °F; canning info: CHUCK'S FIRST L? 03.03.2?

Canned 8/9/24. Drank 12/15/24.
Pour is a beautiful, crystal clear amber with a finger of loss, somewhat fizzy head that fades to not much...no lacing.
Nose is toasted malt, nutty, hints of chocolate, toasted nuts
Taste is similar. Toasted malt, slightly roasted, chocolate, nutty, toffee, no real hop character to speak of.
Medium bodied, crisp, easy to drink.

APPEARANCE: There was a bit of a soda-like experience pouring this beer. Large bubbles flared up as I poured to a solid finger of head before it vanished in the time it took me to open my computer to begin writing. As I sit here I can hear the bubbles that are rushing up from the bottom of the glass fizzing as they break at the surface without leaving a trace. It does not appear there will be any lacing on this beer at all. The liquid itself is brown/mahogany. Typically when I use the word mahogany it implies that I'm seeing a little more of a reddish-brown, but this closer to straight brown. It is also completely transparent and clear even though it is a darker color.
SMELL: Bready and slightly sweet on the nose. Very subtle, but very pleasant. I couldn't quite put my nose on it, but I think shortbread is what I'm looking for in terms of what it smells like.
TASTE: Tastes just like the aroma with a nice, shortbread flavor, but maybe with the addition of a pinch of brown sugar.
MOUTHFEEL: Wow. It's just ideal mouthfeel. Clean and refreshing, but with enough malt backing it up to tips this one just barely to sweet over dry. The sparkle is excellent with every sip despite a lack of foam or lacing. The light body/malty combo makes this one highly drinkable.
OVERALL: The lacing never did develop and the aroma was a little more subtle than I typically prefer, but the taste and mouthfeel really pulled this all together. Another winner from Bierstadt. 5.5% is making me want to find more of this.
Also, this can is dated 8/9/2024. So it shouldn't have fallen off too much, but this beer was left here by a friend, so I wonder if I get my hands on a fresher one if it'll improve the appearance and aroma at all? Either, I'll seek this out again, it really is delicious.

Deep burnished glowing copper with red accent. Very very clear. Blonde-white head springs up then departs leaving a lively but thin rim round glass. Handsome stuff. Spiced fruits, toasted nut n grain, brown sugar, faint pine in aroma.
Taste… Velvety, buttery caramel. Apple pie.. Spicy cola and fresh baked rye, sourdough, pumpernickle, barley cakes.. chocolate pecan cinnamon, and also a malty crackery aspect throughout.
A bit of a delicacy. Modern masters. Scrumptious.
