Serving: 473 ml can (“5/1/25 brewed in Bernal”) poured into a 14.5 oz Rastal Teku glass.
Appearance: Hazy golden yellow with a lush head of white froth, and streaky white lace.
Smell: Pine forest aromas rounded out with citrus zest and subtle dank.
Taste: Big balanced flavors of pine needs and resin, juicy citrus, slight tropical fruit, and crisp, bitter close.
Mouthfeel: Medium body, lush feel and moderate carbonation.
Overall: Bold but balanced hazy DIPA with plenty of nice pine forest noted.

Sweet tropical hoppy slightly dank nose on this one! Taste follows with the hoppy bitterness prominent and out front.
It has good depth and feel...decent...

L: Bright orange, cloudy, minimal head.
S: Pine cone, pine needles.
T: Crisp bite with dry finish. Hints of pine, orange and melon.
F: Dry mouthfeel, sappy and sticky that finishes clean.
O: Very drinkable at 8.4%. Most beers in this higher alcohol tier become malty as they warm, this one becomes “stickier" but remains smooth and mellow. Overall another great offering from Barebottle that I'll definitely buy again.

$ 10.73 (Including shipping)/710 mL bottle ($ 0.622) from Tavour, Seattle, WA. Reviewed 1/12/19.
In yellow-green ink on upper shoulder “BOTx 10-3xxx”. Bottle stored at 42 degrees and served at 54 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter.
Appearance – 4.
Body – Light yellow, hazily opaque. There is a thin layer of sediment in the bottom of the bottle.
Head – Large (Maximum four cm, controlled center pour), white, dense, average retention, diminishing to a scalloped five to twelve mm ring and a thin layer with a heaped rocky island.
Lacing – Excellent - wide rings of tiny bubbles, connected to the next ring by columns. Final development is a lace curtain appearance.
First pour – Light yellow, slight haze.
Aroma – 4 – Citrus predominates, pine.
Flavor – 4.25 – Begins with a gentle citrus flavor which morphs into light pine at the end. Slight pleasant bitterness. No alcohol (8.4% ABV), no diacetyl, no dimethylsulfide.
Palate – 3.5 – Medium, velvety, soft carbonation.
Impression and interpretation – 4.25 - Brewed with six different hops and seven hop additions, yet it hardly seems to be a 71 IBU brew. This lacks the shocking bitterness of many IIPAs, yet the bitterness hits the sweet spot. This is a brew that could easily be consumed in mass quantities to one’s detriment. The flavor leaves one wanting more, as does the velvety palate and the enticing nose. The addition of the brewer’s recipe on the label is a nice touch. It’s a bit pricey, but worth it for an occasional reward.

L: hazy straw yellow in color. Nice frothy cap with generous amounts of lacing.
S: Citrus and pine are dominant aromas. Smells natural, fresh. and crisp. Can't wait to try it.
T: Just as I'd hope. Full of citrus flavor with healthy amounts of pine. It does have a sappy-like flavor to it. The pine flavor resides in the residual which mingles perfectly with citrus.
F: Moderate to high carbonation. Smooth and easy to drink, but isn't quite on that soft and pillowy level.
O: This beer is great. Just as I was wanting it to be. John Muir would love this. I am very grateful to have tried. Cheers!
