Once again, this was available via a single can, just like many brews that I picked up recently at a Whole Foods in San Francisco. Never had anything from Barebottle before and although this wasn't bad, it was just a bit too one-dimensional for a style with so many standouts in these parts!
No surprise that this poured hazy and golden with a uniform hue to it, as well as a nice and subtle radiance that was quite pleasing. A thick and soapy ring remained near the top of my pint glass once the full and even head settled down. Lots of melon, strawberry patch, and barley in the nose as the taste was quite full, but not necessarily full-flavored. Cantaloupe emerged in the back as this had a nice stickiness and the feeling of gluten, as the wheat, oats, and barley could have been toned down a bit.
This felt stronger than it was in actuality as this warmed me up nicely for the amount of alcohol that was present. Dated 3/14 on the bottom of the can with "JACKPOT!" written above it, a bit of dark sediment slowly sunk after I poured out the last of the liquid. Love the label design, down to this beer's recipe, as this felt more like an American Pale Ale than an IPA. Still glad that I was able to give this a go...
