16 ounce can in a nonic pint glass. Canned on 1/14/21, nice and fresh.
Cloudy golden wheat colored brew with a 1f white cap. Quick fade to a thin film, waves of web lacing.
Mild earthy aroma. Dry wheat, gentle pine.
Light caramel, some earthy notes, very nutty. Tropical fruits.
Medium to full bodied, yet soft on the palate like written on the can. Modestly juiced. More dry than sweet, an accomplishment at 8.4% abv. Dry hop finish with some hop bitterness.
Fits the Northeast style category without too much juice. Just right.

Pours an opaque straw color with well over a finger of head. The nose is earthy with a background of fruitiness. The flavor is very juicy but there is hardly any hop bitterness to compliment the juice.

Appearance: pours a hazy orange color with a 1" head that falls to a spotty surface covering.
Smell: light tropical fruits and some earthiness comes through to the nose.
Taste: caramel, grapefruit, pineapple, mango, and an earthy bitterness rounds it out.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer. Lightly crisp throughout.
Overall: a decent DIPA that is well balanced and flavorful.

I'm a big fan of Brotherton's IPA and have been looking forward to trying the DIPA. I had it on draught at a restaurant. It was served in a chalice. It pours a hazy, almost turbid, honey color with a thin, milk-white head and lacing. It smells of grapefruit, lemon, sweet tropical fruit, pine, and floral hops. What a fruit bomb! It's quite dank and opens with a burst of sweet tangerine followed by lots of grapefruit, lemon, grass, and resinous hops. It finishes quite dry and very bitter. While I don't mind the bitterness, the dryness was a little disconcerting after the initial dankness. This ale is medium bodied with lively carbonation and the 8.4% ABV gives it a nice punch. Overall, while I generally prefer DIPA's, I found Brotherton's flagship IPA to be more flavorful and satisfying than the DIPA. That said, Jersey Devil is quite good and I believe that Brotherton could turn it into an outstanding DIPA.

Super hazy golden rod with little to no head and lacing. Fruity hop soaked aromas. Notes of lime zest, peach, nectarine, pineapple, light pine and cream of wheat. Drinks a bit flat, little tingle but has a home brew feel on the palette. The beginnings of what could be a solid DIPA.

On tap at Bonds Tavern. Pours a pale, golden hue with moderate frothing and bubbles. Aroma is reminiscent of fresh pears and lemon lime zest. Very similar flavor profile and champagne like. Not recommended.
