Copenhagen 1/10 2024. 44 cl can from Meny, Vigerslev Allé, Valby. Can in York’s usual design with some cows and Coconut palms
Pours opaque dark brown with a big off-white head. Stable. Settles as thin almost transparent layer of foam. Frothy and crawling up the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a sweet malty with lactose and sweet spice. Sweet vanilla and coconut. Distinct scent of Tonka. Bitter dark chocolate and cacao.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, almost flat texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a rather strong sweetness followed by a more moderate sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a notable sweet undertone. Finish is quite dry.
Gently spicy with a dry bitter bite.

Half pint on Cask from Brew York, York (£2):
Dark brown, bordering black with a thin, creamy tan lacing that covers about 90% of the surface with a thin lacing that leaves good shtick on the sides. The nose is sweet with good coconut & vanilla notes, some lighter caramel & sugars too with hints of chocolate & darker malts. The taste is slightly more bitter with some milk chocolate, darker malts & malted barely. It's medium to full bodied & silky smooth with a sugary sweetness but theres a strong roasted malt finish that's pretty bitter too.

Dark brown with small white head. Smells quite bland but slight vanilla and coffee notes. Flavours are dark chocolate, praline tonka beans, slight vanilla and a slight bitterness. A nice pint but not a world beater.

L- Superficially black, though with a haolgen lamp behind it very deep ruby-red. Pours with 3mm tan head. (Holds well)
S- Very unusual. There is curious er... chemical/synthetic/organic-chemistry kind of smell going on here. I'm a bit congested, sniffing harder I get some cocounut, it might also be the cocoatonka bean aspect too.
T- A mirror-image of the smell^, it's very different. I'm going to go and blind-taste this on my wife, right now, hehehe... Ok, her first response was 'Cinnamon' ... then tasting it '... ... what is this!, it tastes of Coke?'. She didn't like it FWIW... Anyhowz 5mins later now and it's warmed a touch more and the coconut is loud+proud.
F- Somewhat rich but no risk of it getting anywhere near sweet...
O- I've scanned the reviews below but not the can yet. It's very different. Could be a love-hate thing for those who try it? The taste makes this one a bit of a novelty type beer. I can finish it but wouldn't wish to drink it again and certainly not at it's price.
BB: 01/07/2021 bought from Real Ale, London W10 £5.15 (ouch) for a 440ml can.

I do like more foam in my milk stouts. Smells tell me milk chocolate and maybe some nuts in the candy bar !
Tastes are the same, well-integrated. Sits in my mouth like I want dessert to sit, for a long time and not too sweet.
Since I spent only two days in Yorkshire and have no plans to return (since there is a big world), I probably will not return for more
from Brew York. But I did go on their website and am totally impressed by how much effort goes into the website and, I presume,
the beer. Good luck mates !

Dunno what tonka bean is; seems weird. Facets showing chocolate + coconut. Smooth + easy, anyway.

330ml can. Looks fabulous, with the big, creamy, mocha-coloured head leaving sheets of lacing. Aroma and taste are out-and-out bounty bar - milk chocolate, vanilla and coconut. Sweet coffee emerges as the beer warms. Body is medium with a little slick mouth-coating. Carbonation is light and foaming. Finish becomes dry. A highly enjoyable coconut milk stout.

Can. Almost black. Thick dense tan head. Sustained lacing.
A nutty aroma. Chocolate and coconut in attendance. Milky. Very unusual and complex.
Tastes like a Bounty bar. Vanilla and lactose is distinct.
Low carbonation. Medium to full bodied. Very smooth.
Wow - unexpectedly delicious if over sweet.

A 330ml can with a BB of Nov 2017. Purchased a little while back from Trembling Madness in York. The label describes it as a milk stout brewed with tonka bean, vanilla, coconut and cocoa.
A: Poured into a tulip. A very deep ruby-brown that appears almost black in the glass. Produces a smallish head of creamy tan foam that reduces rapidly and disappears.
S: Aroma of sweet dark malt with notes of vanilla, woodruff, coconut, mild chocolate, lactose, subtle roasted grain and ale yeast. Rich and decadent.
T: Tastes of roasted malt with notes of vanilla, chocolate, lactose, mild burnt grain, coconut, a touch of molasses, woodruff and ale yeast. Quite sweet, with a subdued malt-driven bitterness upon swallowing. Satisfyingly rounded.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy, with soft carbonation and an unctuous body. Superb texture given the strength. Aftertaste of sweet dark malt, vanilla, chocolate and faint roasted grain.
O: Wow - a fantastic effort! Looks OK; let down by the lack of head persistence. The aroma and flavour are a complex blend of dark malt, sweet lactose, tonka, vanilla, chocolate and coconut. Great body and an excellent example of what can be achieved in a lower strength beer. Tonkoko seduces the palate and the senses. A top-notch milk stout that deserves to be hunted down.
