500ml bottle here in Bavaria. I really dont know what kind of beer this is but I can say that it is good. A Munich dunkel zwickl... Hofbräu Winterzwickl is a traditional German-style winter beer. It has a rich, deep amber color and a robust flavor profile with hints of caramel, toasty malt, and subtle spices. Its aroma is inviting, with notes of roasted grains and a touch of sweetness. Toasty, a bit roasty flavor. The beer is smooth and full-bodied, making it perfect for cold weather or holiday celebrations. The balance between the malt sweetness and the slight bitterness makes it enjoyable to drink.
Overall, Hofbräu Winterzwickl is a well-crafted seasonal brew that captures the cozy spirit of winter and is ideal for those who appreciate rich, flavorful beers during the colder months. dark, creamy, and a little malty.

One of my first Hofbrau beers. And it happens to be at a hostel in Munich, not the Brauhaus. Bc fuck that touristy nonsense. A proper Dunkels with the rich flavor you’d expect.

Dark copper in color, with a beige long lasting foam on top. Taste is complex with hints of caramel, berries and roast malts. Very discreet but present hops. Medium carbonation that fils and pleases the nose.
Another Hofbrau outstanding beer.

From the bottle, it pours a hazy brown color with a light tan head that lasts a while. In the nose, it is a touch hoppy with malt. In the mouth, it is caramel malts, with a pleasant cherry undertone, with a bit of hops. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy. Nice!

Pours a clear darker brown color with an ember glow to it and fluffy, eggshell white, big head.
Smells of sweet straw, toffee malts and dry, herbal hops among whole grain bread crust.
Has a lively mouthfeel among a refreshing, light and incredibly well balanced body, providing a smooth finish.
Tastes of rustic whole grain bread, spicy caramel malts and soft wheat, leading to a smooth mouthfeel. Atop of the smoothness there is a light but noteable herbal hop note, producing a decent dryness, from which the beer‘s foundation benefits very well. Finishes light with a decent effervescent burst among profound bakers chocolate, toffee and just a hint of piney needles.
Truly unique, as for its malty spiciness, coated up by the bread and its rustic profile.

A: The very darkest shade of amber possible, almost opaque, large foamy head which left some lacing.
S: Mulled fruits.
T: Very malty, dark chocolate, cherries, Christmas spices, slightly bitter finish.
M: Fairly light texture, low carbonation.
O: Somewhere between a winter warmer, Munich Dunkel and a Zwickel
