In some regions may be labeled as Hofbrau Hefe Weizen

The origin of Hofbrau Hefe Weizen dates back to 1589 and since then the "Weisse" has a distinctive place in the history of Hofbrau Munchen. The beer is characterized by its sparkling, by its rich foam and naturally by its unforgettable refreshing taste.

Pours a dark yellow, almost greyish hue in the glass. Billowing head remains throughout the beer only receding slightly. Smell is bananas, clove, fruit like with a little bit of bubble gum. Taste is the nose with a dankness to it that’s oddly refreshing. Great beer, but average compared to Weihenstephaner and Paulaner, middle of the road IMO.

Tried this after a Weihenstephaner Hefe. Pours a dark gold with a thick head, smell is wheaty, taste is similar to Weihenstephaner, but not as wheat forward. Still good.

Cloudy yellow color. Big, white head as expected. Aroma of yeast, bread, and banana. The taste is sweet, with yeast and fruity notes. A classy German weizen,

Typical banana and clove aromas upfront on a lovely, mildly sweet bready base with hints of honey. Cinnamon and nutmeg more faintly in the background. Good sharp bite from acidity and carbonation contrasts with the sweetness, and there's a little orange zest bitterness in the back too. Not quite as much going on as Weihenstephaner or Ayinger (I feel like these have some slight citrus and floral notes that elevate them further) but still a great hefeweizen.

L: Bubbly crystal clear straw colored beer with a small delicate white foam head that lingers, assuming this is filtered

S: Slightly bready

T: Bubblegum with a mellow vague hint of citrus

F: Smooth to drink, but sticky on the tongue after

O: Decent choice that won't knock your socks off or anything. If I had to choose between this and Erdinger, I'd choose Hofbrau everytime, but I'd rather have Paulaner, Ayinger, or Weihenstephaner instead.
