16 FL OZ can
Served in an IPA glass
This beer pours black and is topped with a couple inches of tan head that leaves spotty lacing.
At first, I get chocolate, roasted malt, hints of coffee. After it warms a bit, I get some citrus and pine.
The taste follows the smell. It tasted like a delicious stout at first. I got chocolate and roasted malt. As it warmed the hops came out timidly. I get dank citrus and pine. No lingering bitterness.
Medium to full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel
Nice beer. Black IPAs are so different. Some are like IPAs brewed with dark malt. Some are like a hoppy stout. This one is like the latter. It tastes like a good, hoppy stout.

Having this on-tap for my first beer on my first ever visit to this brewery. Served in a sniffer, this beer draws A very dark brown, almost black color, as this is a Cascadian Dark Ale/Black IPA style beer, with a slightly tan colored head that’s an inch thick when first drawn and served. Settles eventually to a thick ring lining the inside of the glass along with lots of excellent lacing lining the inside of the glass. Aromas of roasted malts with some slight caramel sweetness and some earthy, piney, somewhat floral, resinous hop dankness. The taste is pretty much the same, with some fairly roasted, slightly biscuity malt sweetness with hints of caramel that gives way to some piney, earthy, and somewhat floral, resinous hops with some bitterness. Good balance of flavors here. Has a slightly crisp, also smooth and slightly frothy and slightly prickly and slightly chewy, medium to full bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Has a clean, slightly dry finish and aftertaste. Spot on for this style.
