Having this beer on-tap at the brewery. Served in a tulip glass, this beer draws a dark brown color with a dark tan head that’s about an inch thick when first drawn and served. Settles eventually to a thick ring lining the inside of the glass and decent lacing. Aromas of some dark, roasted malts with nice hints of caramel along with some definite chocolate and coconut hints. Has a very similar flavor profile, with dark, roasted malts with nice hints of caramel along with some definite chocolate sweetness and a good amount of coconut. Just a bit of earthy, grainy, piney hops to round out the flavor profile. has a mainly smooth, frothy, slightly crisp, medium to full bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. The roasted malts, chocolate, and coconut are a strongly present aftertaste here too. This actually was not a good thing for me at that time, as I was drinking this beer on an extremely hot summer evening and the aftertaste was just a bit too much. I'd like to drink this again when it is cooler temperatures.
