Served to me on-tap at the brewery. Served in a snifter, this beer draws a very dark brown, almost black color with a tan head that’s about half an inch thick when first drawn and served. Has bit of lacing here and there on the inside of the glass. Aromas of toasted caramel malt sweetness along with some hints of peanut butter and chocolate. The taste is pretty much the same, with some toasted caramel malt sweetness and some slight hints of peanut butter and chocolate notes. Rounded out with some earthy and slightly piney hop notes that give a bit of bitterness. The sweet flavors does dominate the overall flavor profile a bit, and that’s just fine. Has a fairly crisp, slightly prickly, yet smooth and slightly creamy, medium to full bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Has a clean. Slightly dry and bitter aftertaste, although the sweet flavors like to linger in my palate after each sip.
