Matte black with a slow to build but thick tan fluffy head that settles to an amazingly persistent blanket--relative to the mole version--leaving a few strands of lace, as well as clear legs on the glass with a swirl.
Smell is really graham crackery, and taste is all the childhood mallow, with booze.
Digging in, aroma also features a potent barrel influence that is of a peppery and syrupy char, while also leaving room for dark fruit, like spiced date. That graham tho...it reminds me of my favorite local ice cream, Graham Central Station, including the chocolate crunchies.
Taste starts off far more mature of stinging bourbon and splintery oak. This is then enveloped by the supremely thick and round, almost gloppy viscous chocolate bar body that is smothered in all the gooey roasted marshmallow. The finish brings accents of dark fruit with a lightly tingly, semi-dry carbonation that sticks to the lips.
This really tastes like s'mores, possibly more than any other brewery's attempt I've had, while still maintaining a deeply complex barrel aged stout underneath all the decadent insanity.
