Dull black with burnt red edges and a thin tan ring.
This is really barrel forward of woody bourbon and charred oak. Plenty of heat comes out on the nose, with some nougat and marshmallow, while it's more smooth and round with sweet chocolate in taste. The chocolate has some roasted nut accents, as dark fruit and bourbon heat arises after the sticky, semi-dry exhale. The syrupy medium slick body has a light but crisp fizz that expands softly, adding a touch of wafer.
Really I'm pretty amazed to see them extract so much barrel character into their beer with relatively so few attempts at this, or so it would seem.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
