Pours black with grapey/ruby edges-at 57 degrees; fast, fizzy cinnamon brown head vanished immediately; no cap retention, no ring, no lace; no legs on swirl. Strong raspberry nose, chocolate right behind; whispers of bourbon follow. Taste up front is raspberry, sweet Pinellas Chocolate, cocoa nibs, and bittersweet dark chocolate; hints of bourbon, even less vanilla in middle; chocolate covered raspberry cordial finish. Smooth creamy feel; medium plus body, not at all adjuncty; light carbonation; no warmth from 12% abv. Overall, there’s great balance between the sweet chocolate and raspberries; lots of jammy fruit - totally nailed flavor without being tart or too sweet; I wish it had more bourbon and vanilla as the whole seems two dimensional; although it feels light, it is easy drinking and tastes great - I like raspberry flavored imperial stouts and this one is a winner.
