Bottled 2021. Purchased at brewery 2024. Bottled the Spring of 2021. Poured at 54°. Dark brown fizzy head with a few rocks; poor cap retention quickly reduced to a small island of micro dots; solid ring initially; some soapy/spotty lace with agitation; thick legs on swirl; black body with ruby edges. Strong chocolate nose, followed by caramel and toasted nuts; some bourbon on exhale. Sweet chocolate, caramel, pecan pie; very little bourbon, more as beer warmed; finish is sweet nutty chocolate. Thick heavy body; viscous chewy feel; light carbonation; no warmth from from 12% abv. Overall, beer tastes like “turtle” candy; I wish there had been more bourbon; otherwise, for what it is, an excellent pastry stout.

Poured a black body with minimal head and not much lace. Aroma is chocolate and nutty with hint of booze. Smooth yet heavy body, has stickiness to it as well, yet overall it is very sweet but not cloying with a chocolate and caramel sweetness (mostly chocolate) and some nuttiness in there to add balance and depth. Expensive but worth trying if you get the chance as this is a great post-dinner sipper.

From fresh bottle picked up at brewery. Reminds me of a CCB flavored stout. solid 4.75.
