Bottled May 2022. Poured at 52°. Creamy dark brown head with a few rocks; brief cap retention renders an island of micro dots; solid medium ring; thin bands of soapy lacing from top of glass to bottom; dusty particles (ground nuts?) cling to side of glass; medium legs on swirl; jet black liquid with ruby edges. Nose is tart dark Michigan cherries, followed by chocolate; minor bourbon notes as beer warms. Taste is dark tart cherries and bittersweet dark chocolate; pistachio/nuttiness is present albeit weak; cherry finish. Smooth, almost creamy feel; full minus body; not adjuncty; very little/no warmth from 10%abv; moderate minus carbonation. Overall, the cherry and chocolate are strong!; tastes like a cherry cordial candy (but not too sweet) with just a dusting of pistachio nuttiness; wish it had more bourbon flavor, but if you like chocolate covered cherries, this stout delivers!
