Pale gold color; dense, vibrant carbonation; respectable head, white and frothy, initially large but quickly recedes to a one finger thick appearance. Mildly fruity nose with a bit of bread crust. Fine taste; zesty black pepper dominance carried by a light malt base; little sense of hop bitterness; trace of esters. Crisp mouthfeel; sharp with an overall dry feel on the palate.
While a very drinkable beer, I get little sense of the Huell Melon hops. The smell specifically lacks significant elements of melon or other fruits or floral aspects. The taste does have a certain peppery, tea-like side, but there is nothing stand-out about things. A fair, respectable stab at the kölsch style, but nothing that really stands out.
ABV: 4.9%; pouring temperature: 46.3 °F; canning info: n/a for date; purchased at brewery 3/11/26
