A rather odd beer (if you can call it a beer) from Oozlefinch. Many of their beers are heavy on the lactose, giving them a thick mouthfeel, but this one goes way over the top!!! Purchased a 16 oz can at the Casual Pint in Va Beach. Poured into a pint glass as a thick khaki colored liquid with a head that is just orangey enough in color to distinguish it from the beer. Medium size head with good retention and some thick patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma and taste are more of a fruit puree than a beer. The grapefruit, blood orange and lactose are quite prominent with a touch of vanilla added. Hops and malt must be buried somewhere in the mix. This is pretty much a very sweet fruit shake. Mouthfeel is thick like fruit puree and the sweetness and fruit flavor mask any beer-like attributes. An Oozlefinch concoction on steroids!!!! Don't care for this one!!!!

16 oz can.

Pours a muddy carrot juice color with a finger of sudsy light orange head. The head grows rapidly after pouring and doesn't dissipate. Leaves some chunks of fruit along the glass. Good lord.

The aroma is exactly as advertised: Strong citrus lead by grapefruit and blood orange. Some graham cracker malt hiding in the back.

The flavor is honestly pretty close to an Orange Julius (no, not THAT Julius). Lots of citrus, vanilla, lactose sugar and graham crackers with a sharp, sour finish.

The feel is full-bodied with minimal carbonation. Creamy, soft and smooth with a lingering tartness.

Overall, I don't even know. As a "radler" I suppose this beer is an abomination; It's not very drinkable and is heavy on the alcohol. But as a "fruit and field" beer, it's fine. I guess at this point if you're buying Oozlefinch and read the bottom of the label, you should know what to expect.
