The "last keg on the planet." Had this last weekend at that well-known den of iniquity, Ebenezer's. As always, Chris was the host with the most. The beer was served in a snifter. Gold in color, with a tiny head. It had a sour, earthy aroma. Very tart taste, a little fruit. Somewhat yeasty. Nice beer to drink. Would have had more, but there were others to try.

As noted below, had a glass from the cask at Eb's Belgium Fest. Aroma and taste on this one are totally different. The aroma portells nothing of the tart and sour flavors this one imparts. Smell is very mellow, almost lager-like. The taste smacks you with astringent smacking from the tart citrus/cherry notes. Sweet Tarts come to mind. Light on it's toes, the Parfait gets better with each sip, and leaves you wanting more.

First beer of the Belgian beer fest at Ebenezer's for me on tuesday. One of three beers I noted before the begining of the end. Claimed to be the last keg of it on earth!
Poured into my Eb's snifter a hazy yellow with virtually no head. Strong sour fruit smell with a bit of a hop twang on the nose. Interesting. Taste is complex. I get some sour apples, some sour cherries and even some pine hop bite towards the end. Ther is a hell of a lot going on in this one. I want to keep drinking it as I get more and more from it. Very drinkable with a slick mouthfeel for a gueze. Wonderful beer and I feel lucky that I got to try it.
