This was not my favorite of teh monoblend series. I think it had a bit of spiciness to it that I really did not care for. I like the concept of these lambics but not always the specific foeder/blend.

Bottle: Poured a golden color Lambic with a nice large white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of tart funky etster notes with some oak and light green apple notes is pretty enticing. Taste is also a good mix of funky trat notes with some light barnyard notes, some green apple acidity and some oak. Body is about average for style with a good carbonation level. Solid gueuze with right mix of complexity and drinkability.

Bright saturated gold, ample foam that has a dimpled surface texture. After a couple minutes, the loose bubbles fade to a patchy skim. No lacing. Swirling the glass rekindles some foam, which crackles like a bowl of Rice Krispies.
Aroma is a touch sulfuric, which thankfully fades in a few minutes time. Light citrus acidity and mellow oak are also noticeable.
Taste is lively and acidic with lemon and grapefruit flavors taking centerstage. Dry oaky aftertaste with a touch of bitterness. Medium bodied and very carbonated. Swirling a couple times helped tame the seltzery qualities. Overall it’s very characteristic of a Boon Geuze blend, mellow and approachable with balanced acidity. This one is a little more fruit forward.
