One of the better beers I enjoyed of late where I also enjoyed it a whole lot better than the average Beer tallier. A good creation and glad I could enjoy it.

Orange/amber in color, and light lacy foam remains on the edges. Fruity notes, moderate carbonation, funk throughout on the nose and the palate. Good but not great.

Quite dark orange, beautiful foam.
Good intense smell, quite citric.
Definite taste, the right sourness, lively.
Some sweet notes, but still, good.
Weel done geuze, relatively simple, but good.

750 ml bottle imported directly from Belgium.
Pour is hazy and heavy, medium fizz, very dark yellow with a white wisp of a head.
Aroma is pleasantly dry, lightly ashen, with a firm edge of yeast tartness with some nodes of apple cider.
The flavor is quite good, albeit not as adventurous or aggressive as some top-tier geuzes. Front of the sip is medium strength tartness balanced against medium strength sweetness. The middle and finish are dryer, with some fruit juiciness giving way to a surprisingly complex back end consisting of must and soil nodes, with pleasant sweetness lingering on the finish.
It's much more balanced and drinkable than many older reviews appear to indicate. Maybe Boon got the hang of things? At any rate, it's a quite solid geuze and a good value for its price.

I don't get the other reviews comparing it to Mort Subite gueuze because this definitely not a sweetened gueuze but the real deal.
I'm reviewing a bottle bought in Belgium.
Golden colour with a little white rim.
Nose is fruity and slighty funky. Some cereal notes are noted in the taste too.
The mouthfeel is dry with a moderate carbonation.
Good gueuze.

Dekoninck & Gebroeders was a lambic blender in Dworp that closed in 1977. Now it is a nostalgia brand produced by Boon for the De Koninck family, the owners of Bierhalle Dekoninck in Buizingen: https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/49225/
Statement on the origin of this beer from the source: "DE KONINCK (Dworp), stopped 1977, the brand was produced by DE NEVE BRY. until 1992, since then by BOON." - Frank Boon, 2005: http://www.babblebelt.com/bbb_classic/readarc.html?id=1110724314
Re-review 2020:
Poured side by side with Oude Geuze Boon to see if there was any difference, and there was. A little brighter and more saturated orange color, with persistent lasting foam.
Aromas of orchard apples and fresh tobacco leaf, oddy enough.
Lightly tart, a little thin and seltzery. Tart apple and mineral water. No funk or barrel character to speak of really. Light bodied and well carbed. It’s a light refreshing summer quencher, but lacks much depth. Overall it’s ok, but the history of this blender is far more interesting than this nostalgic tribute label.

Bottle: Poured clear light golden color lambic with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light funky notes with some subtle oak note is pleasant. Taste is a good mxi of light funky notes, minimal residual sugar some oak with light green apple notes. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Not the most complex lambic but satisfying and enjoyable overall.

Tastes in between a gueuze timmermans and a gueuze marriage parfait of boon.
Really good stuff and is very sour but not as much as the timmermans.
Nice gueuze for an unknown brand...!
