Copenhagen 1/3 2019. 75 cl bottle from Ølhandleren in Give (web-shop). Very serious black label advertising for the Horal Members (the High Council) which have created the input for this blended geuze. This is the 2017 blend so 3 Fonteinen is included.
Pours unclear golden yellow with big, white, very bubbly head. Settles as lonely, thin island of foam. No lacing.
Aroma has lightly fruity sweet notes soon overpowered by a tart, vinous sourness. Sour berries, vinegar, green apples. But it has a kind of weird balance. A moderate well controlled funky note.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, lively texture. A little sticky.
Flavor is lightly sweet followed by a strong but controlled tart sourness. Aftertaste is sour. Finish is vinous and dry.
A nice and sharp blend which does exactly what it is supposed to. No more, no less.

A 750ml corked and caged bottle, 2017 vintage, with a best before date of 24th November 2036. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen gueuze glass.
Appearance: A hazy golden orange colour with a one finger white head that had good retention, eventually settling to a thin cap, while leaving some nice lacing.
Aroma: Musty, dried grass, earthy, gooseberry, lemon, citrus zest, green apple, wood, and a touch herbal.
Taste: Lightly sour, lemon, gooseberry, grassy, green apple, oak, funk, lemon zest.
Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: Balanced and refreshing with good aroma and flavours. One of my favourite Mega Blend vintages.
