Rustic, refined and regal, these words don't only describe the beer but also the brewery, now going into it's fiftieth year.
Bubbly, bright and pouring a tarnish straw, hazy chrome, Mariage Parfait 10 floats a skim of foam with a scent filled with funk and fauna. Musty cellar-like conditions, attic woods and hints of saddle leather come after dries citrus, wine rot and hints of cider. A gentle sweetness greets the palate with suggestions of communion wafer, honey and whole wheat only to be washed away by a middle palate of acidity and fruitiness. Green apple, lime, lemon and gooseberry bring a sourness that balances the sweetness and allows for a crisp and refreshing finish.
An after palate of musty, earthy and woodsy notes continue to command the session as the gueuze favors the funk more than it does sourness.
