My first review, so don't bet the farm (house) on it.
Bright light gold. Looks warm. Misty but no yeast chunks. Maybe over carbonated? Foams a bit out the bottles upon opening. Lots of carbonation streams. Good 3/4 hand high head, which mostly dies off but alway retains full coverage of the surface. Lacing sparse and more spotty than stringy.

Bready smell with some spice, maybe pepper tickling the nose.

Although the ABV is a little below average, it warms the top of my mouth with a tingle that lasts a long time. Gunpowder hints, or just a spice I've never had? Please help me here.. Very dry aftertaste. Matches the best saison so I've tasted. But the long aftertaste is a minus. Wonder what it is?
Overall I'd recommend it to friends and welcome it at my table. A fine example of what I understand is a saison?

A - very hazy dark golden, two fingers of fluffy white head dissipated unevenly with plenty of random lacing spots
S - fruity citrus and pear, grains and mild herbs
T - pungent sour citrus, stark graininess, hints of herbs, with just a faint chlorine or hard water hint on the finish
M - medium body with a very creamy start, sour and bitter feel lasts through the finish and it drys out late
O - a respectable entry into the style, not on my list of favorites but I am always happy to see a Canadian brewer that keeps pushing forward

341ml bottle poured into tulip 11/9/13

A hazy golden orange with plenty of bubbles feeding a large loose soapy head that hangs around for a while leaving a few random patches of lace

S orange flesh, banana chips, mineral water, some spice I can't place, yeast and marmalade

T yeasty and faintly spicy, lots of citrus and some earthy notes, not far from the nose

M medium bodied, a little foamy but not to bad, slick after the fact with a spice and citrus lingering

O not a bad representation of the style but nothing to set it apart either, lots of flavor for a low alc% saison, worth a try

not up there with the Belgian classics but quite possibly the best saison I've ever had from the Yukon

Appearance - Pours a golden ochre with a half finger of bubbly white head.

Smell - Banana, clove, yeast, fruity esters.

Taste - Yeast, fruity esters, light banana and clove, some grains, and touch of spiciness.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Overall - A good first attempt at the Saison style by Yukon. The base flavours are in place. Some further work on heightening the flavours, as well as improving the appearance, and this brew could be something special.

341ml bottle, packaged in a rather busy cardboard tube. Number 007 in the 'Collectors Edition' Brewer's A.D.D. series. What, no Bond references?

This beer pours a glassy, bright golden yellow hue, with a slightly ebullient tower of rising, thinly foamy off-white head, which settles rather quickly, leaving a few specks of sudsy lace around the glass for its efforts.

It smells of semi-sweet grainy pale malt, ripe banana, softly juicy, fleshy orange, a bit of softly zingy coriander, mild earthy yeast, and leafy, somewhat floral hops. The taste is more pale malt, lightly sweet in its bearing, banana-orange smoothie - sans any added sugar or cream, prominently edge-free coriander, increasingly sassy black pepper, a subtle yeastiness, and continuing earthy, sort of musty hops.

The carbonation is quite sedate, the body medium-light in weight, and mostly smooth, the spices having a minor prickling effect. It finishes on the sweet side, the malt, fruit, and spice notes all leaning lazily that way.

A decent saison, with the sweetness elevated, and the crispness devalued, though the fruit notes are still tangy enough for all. Tasty, and properly seasonal, ya gotta give Yukon Brewing that.
