Appearance – The beer pours a slightly hazed golden yellow color with a one finger head of white foam. The head has a good level of retention fading slowly over time to leave light streaks of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is big and bold of a pine smell with hints of a cracker malt and some rather strong orange and grapefruit smells. The mix of sweeter citrus and pine hop is rather nice and creates a clean aroma overall.
Taste – The taste begins with a sorta crackery taste that has a decent citrus sweet taste of orange and tangerine. Upfront there is also some pine flavors from the spruce which grow stronger and stronger as the taste moves forward. Along with the pine comes more bitterness of grapefruit and a hint of lemon. In the end the mix of flavors ends up leaving one with a rather crisp and citrus-pine taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is normal to a little more chewy in its thickness with a carbonation that is normal as well. For the mix of citrus and pine hop tastes as well as the crackery tastes the feel is rather nice and creates a nice base for the flavors of the brew.
Overall – This is a rather tasty brew overall. It is slightly crisper tasting and rather refreshing with the mix of hop.
