Appearance – The beer is served a golden yellow color with a one finger head of billowy white foam. The head has a great level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a light level of spider web lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is heaviest of a very bready and doughty smell mixed with some floral and spice aromas of clove, coriander, and nutmeg. Along with these aromas comes a good hit of a yeasty smell as well as some notes of sugar sweetness and some honey as well as some other aromas of vanilla and a bit of grass and hay.
Taste – The taste begins with a rather bready flavor that has tons of fruity sweetness of peach and pear. Upfront there is also a bit of yeast which grows stronger and stronger as the taste advances. Along with the yeast growing stronger, so too does some of the spice tastes with lots of clove and coriander coming to the tongue as the flavor moves onto the end. Honey flavors are light upfront, but also grow stronger as the taste advances, and with some flavors of grass and hay that develop right at the end, one is left with a rich but balanced, yeasty, bready, spiced, and sweet flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is medium in thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is slightly higher. For the style and the flavor profile the feel is great and makes for one easy drinking brew.
Overall – A tasty brew overall that starts out bready, moves toward the sweeter, but is all the while balanced by spice and yeast.
