Eight & Sand Beer Co. "Guac is Extra"
1 Pint can "CANNED ON 05/22/22" and sampled on 10/18/22

Notes via stream of consciousness: "LAGER BREWED WITH BLUE CORN AND LIME". It's poured a hazy deep golden body beneath a short head of bright white foam. I didn't think that the blue corn would make any difference but there is an interesting pinkish cast to it. Of course that could be from grain but... ahhh, I don't know, I think it's from the corn. The lime comes through in the aroma but it's not too strong, although it is clear. The malt that's there is sweetish and basic. It's a little floral as well. Nice. On to the taste... ahhh, that's nice! The lime is definitely clear here, and not bitter. I wonder if they've just used zest, or maybe zest and just a little bit of juice. That's where the floral note in the aroma is coming from, and it's sweetish, floral, and softly citrusy in combination with the malt. It's lightly acidic as you'd expect, and quite refreshing. I'm really surprised by this beer. I wasn't expecting much but the balance is perfect. I thought it'd be a golden lager with lime juice but it's so much more than that. There is some bitterness to it, and it may be at least partially from the lime. It finishes mainly dry with the malt and lime combination fading. The malt goes first, followed by the lime, and then the floral character and lime zest lingers. I've been trying to figure out what the floral character is like and I think the best I can come up with is Asiatic Lily. In the mouth it's medium bodied and crisp. I'm going to guess that this is a seasonal beer and I've added it to my calendar for May. It'll make a great summer beer although I'm drinking it right now with 40˚F outside and 68˚F inside and I'm thrilled with it because it's just so unique and interesting, and at just 5.5% ABV it's also highly quaffable as well. ~p.s. - I didn't think about it until I went to put the numbers together for this but the head held up just OK, and there wasn't a lot of lacing left behind at all. That's very much what you'd expect of a Mexican lager, and I think the acidity from the lime might be hindering it a bit as well. I can't give it extra points for that though, so the appearance brings its score down a little though.

16oz can into a pint glass. Canned 4/20/21, so about 6 weeks old.
Crystal clear pale golden yellow body. Light carbonation. Small white head fizzes out quite quickly, hence no lacing.
Aroma is lightly of lime and a grain base.
On tasting, the lime is present, but not zesty. On the grainy side. Clean tasting.
Mouth medium, finish dry, light lime, and somewhat corny.
Overall, simple clean lager with a light hand on the lime. Grain base not unpleasant.
