Canned on 8/24/22; consumed on 9/28/22
Pours a silky blood-red trending dark magenta in the glass; a finger and a half of creamy, pale pink foam shows decent retention, yielding a thin, spotty cap, moderate, frothy collar, and fervent webs of lacing stuck to the walls of the glass as it fades.
Aroma brings bright black raspberry sporting subtle wheat undertones and a touch of dank hops coming through over time; a slightly seedy, fruity funk progresses over the middle as hints of musty tropical citrus eases over the back end of the bouquet.
Taste offers fresh raspberry with underlying wheat texturing, while peachy hops in the distance over the mid-palate soon fade to black raspberry veering jammy over time and leaking to red Starburst on the finish.
Mouthfeel shows a body on the lighter side of medium, with a rounded, moderate carbonation easing to a minor twang stung with juicy fruits; refreshingly tart through the mid-palate and drying easily into the back end.
Successfully in presenting forward fruit and a restrained hop contrast, the seedy twang is eased in turn by the pillowy wheat base to ultimately steady a solid take on a confounding, at times paradoxical style.
