Re-visited January 01st, 2022

Clear, medium amber body; great carbonation; Two finger thick head, dense, creamy, and white. Outstanding spicy and dank nose; pine resin with a very modest touch of citrus. Fantastically balanced American India pale ale taste; light cereal grain base with a moderately heavy hop bitterness; nuanced rye spiciness. Outstanding mouthfeel; medium body with a nice mild prickliness on the palate; subtle stickiness; moderate dryness overall.

The 2021 version is much like the original, slightly better in the smell and mouthfeel departments. It's an excellent old school west coast IPA.

7.3% ABV; pouring temperature: 41 °F; crowler date: 12/29/21

Additional notes: this is not a collaborative effort like the first release. The ABV is slightly lower (originally 7.7% ABV) and there are now four hop varietals used in this batch: Nugget, Simcoe, Mosaic, Chinook (Chinook being the new addition).

Very fine, crystal clear body; dark amber with a relatively thin yet frothy and lasting head. Malty and sweet aroma; dominant pine notes with a trace of citrus. Rock solid west coast IPA flavor, heavy on the hop bitterness with a great malt backbone; low-key cereal grain with a bold pine resin twist. Medium body; crisp and biting on the palate; pretty dry throughout the tasting experience.

This beer is a dynamite example of classic American IPA stylings. Straightforward appearance with a heavy hop presence in the aroma and, most definitely, the taste. Nice and bitter with some great balance and depth.

Had on tap at Brewer's Republic in December 2018 (Just now getting to transfer from hand notes)
L - Another impressive hazy-ish/ lacing is good
S - Solid, a little dank as the name implies, definitely more citrus than Earthy
T - Very good, citrus bite, a little bit of hop burn (too fresh? too green?)
M - Solid carbonation, stays lively, but adds to the hop burn impression.
O - My kind of beer, even if tastes like a lot of their other hefty IPAs. Still our best brewery in COS.
