Jet black body; barely any head other than a wispy ring staying around the edge of the glass. Faint aroma of dark roasted grains. Taste of baker's chocolate and whiskey; cocoa; amoretto. Heavy body; slick and silky; lots if residual sugars yet finishing semi-dry.
This beer was aged in Heaven Hill bourbon barrels, and the whiskey notes are pretty prominent in the taste and mouthfeel. It's a solid beer if rather so-so for its styling.
