IPA - Triple
120 IBU
Every 100 batches of beer, we make a limited edition IPA for hop lovers to savor. And with nearly 10% ABV and over 120 IBUs, our 1,000th batch of beer is definitely not for n00bs. Available while supplies last!

Pours deep amber, like the color of a sweet tea. Off White to slightly smokey grey head. Nose is is like walking through a forest of pine trees. The taste is very piney. Feel is very smooth, nothing offensive like one would expect with the higher ABV and way high IBU! Very good triple IPA

Clear, dark amber body; dense, slow-rising carbonation; thick, frothy and sticky head, white colored and long-lasting. Moderate caramel note in the smell infused with a spicy hop complement. Zesty, malty flavor; sweet but not cloying; spicy hop notes exuding pepper and coriander; faint hint of citrus; strong but not overpowering alcohol note. Heavy body; dense and slightly sticky; prominent bit of boozy warmth.
Originally intended to be a double India pale ale, this beer kept going during the fermentation until it wound up being a triple IPA for all intents and purpose. Per a phone conversation with Brian Koch (Cerberus' relatively new head brewer), he stated they originally were targeting for around an 8.1% ABV but wound up with the 9.8% at the finish. They had already per-ordered the can labels for a DIPA with a lower ABV before the beer finished, so that's where confusion came in between the can label and their web site description of Batch 1000. Personally, I think it tastes like a triple IPA and a fine one at that.
Pouring temperature: 46 °F; canning info: n/a
