Appearance: No lace, no head, cloudy dirty blond. Not much more to say.
Smell: Smoke & Salt which is something you don't often encounter. Good potency that did not require warming, but that's it. There's not much else to this one.
Taste: Again as advertised, a sour and salty Gose with a Smoky end and maybe a hint of pine in there. The smoke is very campfiresque and not that kind of bacon note you'd get from a Rauch or Vanilla you'd get from an oak aged offering.
Mouthfeel: Good carbonation in the body, but points get deducted for the complete lack of head. Light as it should be with good transitioning. I like how the smoke lingers a bit at the end in the aftertaste.
Drinkability: Light, easy, crisp, the kind of beer you want to have after you've taken a walk from the airport in the heat and lamented that for some reason they just couldn't let the sidewalk, so you had to roll your luggage through gravel for 20 or so minutes.
Final Thoughts: Gose is one of those styles you can't do a lot with. The salt tends to clash when you try to fruit it with anything but citrus. This was an great and welcome idea to the style and have to say I would love to see.
