Bottle 147/530. Thanks Buck89!
Pours a deep, nearly black brown. Fairly generous mocha head settles slowly to a consistent milky film. Slight layered lacing.
Aroma is a beautiful blend of a traditional Impy Stout (roasty, mildly sweet) with a nuanced whiskey tinged sweetness.
Flavor follows suit, again the roast comes through with a lot of subtlety. Coffee, charred wood, tobacco, chocolate, caramel, peat, and a light fruit note, maybe cherry, maybe something darker like prune. But again, the whiskey notes adds a nice spot of sweetness with some warmth. But very gentle-handed.
Mouthfeel was full enough for the style, gently warm, with a finish that goes from mildly sweet to slightly bitter, charred, and earthy...then back to the warm whiskey.
Overall, I love how so much nuances can be found here. Love this one.

Poured into a snifter from a bomber. Looks like a typical BA stout - a small tan head formed and faded but left a few islands of foam. Caramel and bourbon aroma, with chocolate malt and also a subtle cherry tartness. On the taste, the bourbon was there but restrained, leaving room for the base beer's chocolate and roasty notes. The wood was there as well. Full bodied but not overly sweet. A slightly tart cherry finish but it did not detract from the beer. Great beer.
