fantastic golden ale, super well refined, way more flavorful than the hoards of these that are made as easy crowd pleasers for the yellow beer drinkers, this one has personality, soul, i love it! shiny golden beer i can see myself in, fills the pretty stemmed glassware they use here really well, holds an inch of white head, almost looks like a belgian, appears filtered and radiant. there is german character to this, noble hop spiciness, grass, citrus, some bitterness here too, more hoppy than most but super well integrated, not just hops blasted on top of whatever beer, its consequential the whole way, intentional, and the malt has enough character to support that. bready, european, exceedingly fresh in both nose and taste, biscuit but not caramelized or warm in that way, it stays crisp still. faint early sweetness but then bone dry on the palate, minerals underlying the malt, and then like a zested orange and almost wildflower thing to the hops, becoming oddly more delicate as this moves along, incredible but also interesting balance to this, and in the end there is just way more to this than is common in anything just dubbed a golden ale, definite old world influence, immaculate refinement, brilliant carbonation, and just a little more structure than most of these have thanks to the use of some real fine malt, but still effortless to drink with the lower abv and the excited mouthfeel. really splendid beer, i could drink 20 of these...
