another really solid beer from these guys, im so glad we were able to stop in, great experience, really under the radar beers, but the quality across the board was off the charts in our experience. this is a nice hefeweizen, classically styled, simple, dry, yeast driven, earthy, and drinkable, all the intangibles are here, and i was quite pleased overall. blonde with its anticipated haziness, a golden tone with an average white head from the tap, good carbonation is evident. the nose is clove, white pepper, and citrus, without crazy dominant esters or being fermented too warm, everything in its place, everything balanced, the wheat is not just pale and plain, it has toasted and nutty aspects, not sweeter but richer anyway than in a lot of these, gives this a nice core. the flavor shows everything the nose does, with subtle pear and lemon along with the clove spice, faint anise and cut flowers too, really a pretty ferment, almost saison-esque as it warms, spicy and fruity both but also kind of subtle, great wheat profile right there with it the whole way, off dry at the end, rushing carbonation, all really nice. some hop bitterness late, an almost baked character, a muffin thing with the grain, and still a pretty high capacity for refreshment. very pleasant spring drinker.
