This medium bodied, delicious ale makes you want to yell out 'merica. It has a beautiful red color with just enough hop bitterness to play perfectly with the malty goodness. This is a great beer for people who are ready to graduate from a blonde ale, and get into more serious brews.

16 ounce can, enjoy by date of 6/5/25 stamped on the label, also says it's 6% ABV. Served in a Teku, the beer pours a somewhat clear reddish/amber color with about an inch light tan head that stuck around a while. There's also a good amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like caramel, toffee, bready malt and some earthy hops. I think the taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but there's also a slight herbal bitterness noticeable in the finish. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's smooth and a bit creamy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this one, thought it was a good overall red ale. Worth a try if you get the chance!

I am trying this at the brewery. It poured a clear amber with no head and no lace. The scent had faint hints of malt. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with sweet malt presence. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a ok.

The roots of red ale might lie in Ireland, but the U.S. adaptation has dried the malt sweetness, elevated hop aroma, flavor and bitterness and made the beer a more focused and drinkable session. Mirror Twin takes full advantage of these development.
Red Blooded American is by God red hue laced with haze, rust and garnet. As a light and fleeting froth swirls at the rim, its nose leads with equal parts citrus hops and toasty malts. Flavors first side with the malts, bringing a toasted caramel, pecan and crusted taste to the forefront of the palate.
And as the ale develops over the middle palate, its malts begin to break apart and the hops slowly take command. Grapefruit and orange peel intertwine while the sweetness recedes and allows the toasted edges of malt to linger with peanut skins, bread crust and seared barley kernel. Trending bitter and moderately resinous, the classic American finish of pine, grass and citrus peels persist, winning the balance war in the end.
Medium bodied and casting a sense of cola-like flavor and texture on the finish, the drying beer is off clean but hop forward; toastier and richer than pale ale but certainly not as hoppy; ideal with chorizo pizza.
