On the day when we are all Mexican, the brewers at Mirror Twin help us join in the festivities with a Mexican-style Vienna lager with enough flavor to keep the craft beer contengency happy but with a drinkability to keep the party going all day and half the night.
Bright golden and with a burnt orange center, the somewhat bronzen beer swirls with a light creme and a mild herbal, floral bouquet. Grain sweetness and light granola toastiness brings the rustic taste of grain and simple malt sweetness to the foreground of taste.
As the lager washes the tastebuds, its grain sweetness reduces slightly and the beer's nutty, lightly toasted and bread crust character carries over to a cola-like flavor with a mild tea-like bitterness that's slightly spicy with lemongrass, lemon pepper and mint.
Easy drinking and mildly watery, the medium light beer is effortless in taste and drinkability but has a flat side due to its low carbonation that limits its scent and its body. A lightly mineral finish is crisp and brings about a low sulfur aftertaste.
