Big, rich and malty, it takes a hot minute to sit and let this beer register with the palate. Boozy, fruity and a dash of spice brings this beer to the tastebuds with strong inspirations from Belgium.
We Boil All Our Denims pours with a rusty brown hue and topped with a short ivory froth. A bold sweet and spicy scent is slightly winey but rolls along with hints of fruitcake and brandy. Sweet on the early palate, the Belgian strong, dark ale soothes the senses with caramel, candy and sorghum.
Along the middle palate, the tepid carbonation allows the sugars to sit fully on the tatsebuds, saturating them with sorghum, horehound candy, sarsaparilla, light chocolate, toast and pecan. Hints of cinnamon, allspice and clove decorate the finish as those promised brandy spices come into balance.
Finishing full and malty sweet, the beer’s boozy spice and yeast spices take an edge off the the dense grains while a suggestion of red wine and fortified booze prickle the mouth. A long and cola-like aftertaste leaves the palate thirsty for another sip.
