Shier on linguistics than they are beer imagination, the haze craze at Mirror Twin Brewing keeps rolling, this time on the curtails of Mandarin Bavaria hops and a juicy underlayment that's sure to keep all Lexington area hop heads under their lupulin spell.
Pale straw and burnt orange, We've Run Out Of Hazy Names pours with the appearance of milky fruit juices. And that juiciness is just getting started as its light and wisping froth entices the nose with the citrusy fragrance of orange along with the herbal grassiness of German hops. Its taste is supple of pastry and angel food cake along with a pep of honey and confectioner's sweetness.
Those nouveau Germanic hops bloom on the middle palate. The radiant taste of madarin oranges bring a succulent citron character to taste, seemingly on the slightly under ripened side of fruit. Additional background notes of mango, pineapple, grapefruit and honeydew complement the orange character before the beer trails with the spicy bitterness that traditional German beer is known. Lemongrass, lemon pepper and a fresh grassiness emits from the late palate.
Medium bodied but trending lighter and drier, the New England styled IPA comes with a low lying carbonation trying to capture the cask ale effects in taste and texture but seems to come at the detriment of the most radiant showcase of Mandarin Bavaria hops that's becoming of these new varieties. Medium to low bitterness ensures a smooth and sherbet-like after palate.
