Seeing no cease or diciest in sight, Lexington's Mirror Twin brewers are hell bent on producing hazy after hazy IPA until they get it right. Chocked full of radiant fruit and floral perfumes, the hops of Azacca and Amarillo are just as hard at work making a juicy, cloudy, smooth IPA that sets the bar high for the local haze craze.
My Hazy Has A First Name pours with a muddy lemon color, seeming of the translucence of beaten egg yolks. Succulent aromas roll off of the top of the white frothy cap with citrus, honeysuckle, tropical, melon and spruce- all seemingly moderate and calm on the intensity scale. Cookie dough and the lightness of angel food cake roll onto the early palate with a soft and confectionary sweetness.
And as the ale nestles onto the middle palate with a creamy hops, the radiance of citrus flavors lead with pink grapefruit and lemon while a tropical medley of apricot, mango, pineapple and passionfruit bring about a fruit punch character. Peach, pear and pine round into a taste that's of spicy sherbet and a smooth resinous linger of pine needle, fresh grassiness and herbal verbena and sassafras.
Medium bodied and trending dry, the beer's body remains creamy though malty dry, the finish is smooth and light on the bitter scale. Moderate in its hoppy grip, the beer's final moments are of light fruit punch but with a gin-like spice and a patient bitter balance.
