Spinning off of their popular "Haze for Horses", this pineapple fruited version celebrates the natural tropical flavors of both yeast and hops in a greater degree with generous additions of the succulent fruit to transport the senses to seaside vacations.
Galaxy and Mosaic hops give Who Lives In A Pineapple Under The Sea its familiar orange juice aesthetics and its opaque visual density, but its the pineapple additions that pull the tropical perfume ahead of any citrus or herbal influences. The sweetness of pastry malts, wheat and fructose give the taste a malty sweet upstart in a highly upside down cake character.
A slow fade of sweetness and breadiness allow the tropical fruit impressions to seem plump, radiant and branch ripe. Obvious pineapple character is accompanied by mango, passionfruit and kiwi but not without the classic IPA taste of red grapefruit, kumquat and lemon adding roundness and a sharpness to the mix. A moderately herbal late palate is remiss of hemp, verbena, geranium and muddled fruit peels.
Medium bodied and moderately bitter, the beer's finish is smooth, creamy and highly sherbet-like. PIneapple flavors continue to dominate any spruce, gin, citrus or herb flavors as the taste of those pineapple rinds resonate soundly in a medium long aftertaste of exotic fruit punch.
