The purists in the beer world don't want fruit in their beer. But with the emergence of hazy IPA, smoothie IPA and fruits that mimic the properties of hops, some breweries just don't care. And that's how Mirror Twin treats their IPA when rolling in copious amounts of mango to their Hazy Badger Don't Care IPA.

If twinning is winning, then Mango Badger takes top honors while pours a dense, pulp filled appearance of frothy orange juice. Slightly off texture from scrambled eggs, the nose is rife with the must, perfume and succulence of all-things-mango. Tea, leaf and herb decorates the peripheries of scent while a richly textured fruit sweetness envelops the tongue. Creamy, pastry-like and luscious, its light honey, fructose and poundcake flavors sooth the senses early and often.

Sweetness relaxes slightly on the middle palate while the hops begin to make their presence known with its own grapefruit, pineapple, orange and papaya nuances. But its the mango that takes full control with its exotic and tropical fruit flavor. A secondary taste of peach and apricot rise from the fruit additions and the finish develops a moderate bitterness on the late palate. Fine grassiness, green tea and freshly shaved sassafras offer a mild bitterness to the fruit while ensuring a smooth and juicy finish.

Medium bodied and retaining a creamy cake-like texture, the finish is moderately bitter and malty dry. Juiciness trends herbal and gin-like along with a piquant spice from fruit. A soft linger of fruit juices come with its uniqueness of fruit skins, pith and rind.
