Riffing on Galena Warrior Princess, the Mirror Twin team twins this hazy IPA into something fruitier, more exotic and unique. The addition of passionfruit to the New England styled IPA gives a special tang.
PASSIONATE About Hazy comes moderately turbid with a matte goldenrod appearance with a broken ecru froth. A bright and radiant perfume teases the nose with tart, tangy and exotic fruit aromas with a light leafy scent and a background of citrus, stone fruit and berry. Pastry-like on the early palate, its malt sweetness is moderate and rolls along the tongue like angel food cake, mild honey and caramel.
A slow recession of sweetness allows the passionfruit flavor to slowly build into the promised tangy, spicy and winey passionfruit flavor. Pink grapefruit comes in next while the Mosaic hops give the middle palate a blueberry, lime and under ripened orange flavor. Trending spicy in its bitterness, the finish is herbal with tea leaf, blackcurrant, chive and pepper.
Medium bodied but seemingly lighter because of the fruits brisk yet playful acidity. The interplay of tartness and bitterness intertwine beautifully on the late palate while a medium short aftertaste pops with citrus, herb and berry to cleanse the palate and usher in a great sense of drinkability.
