As the beer scene becomes saturated with the doughy taste of grain in their IPA, a little help graces the Mirror Twin brewer from honey. Along with Citra and Mandarina Bavaria hops, the haze craze phenomenon show no slow down at this point.
Not likely to see any cease or desist notices anytime soon, Honey, I Shrunk The Haze doesn't come up short at all. A rich perfume of citrus and herb comes wit a floral culmination of potpourri. Expectedly sweet to taste, the honey enriched ale also brings a taste of poundcake and light caramel to the sweet tooth.
As the sweetness stews on the tastebuds, the hops enter the fray with a succulent taste of tangerines and mandarin oranges with a tangy, zesty and rich marmalade character. The light green spice of lemon verbena, citronella, green tea and hemp tease and taunt the late palate while a soft bitter balance takes an edge off of the lingering bready sweetness.
Moderately doughy and pastry-like, the imperial IPA carries a medium full mouthfeel into a botanical finish with herbal gin, wintergreen and sassafras playing a neon green brightness in a medium long after palate.
