Taking the hazy IPA to pastry levels, Mirror Twin Brewing rounds their juicy, succulent and fruit hop bomb with generous amounts of lemon, lactose and vanilla for the unmistakable aura of lemon meringue, for those who can't decide between beer and dessert.
Canary yellow and cast in a foggy haze, Lemon Meringue The Bell But Nobody Answered knocks on the door of aromas with a creamy lemon, sweet, tart and doughy scent that plays right into the pastry sweetness of angel food cake, light honey and powdered sugar.
As the middle palate unfolds, its sweetness trends tart as the lemons take hold and brings out the best of a hop flavor that carries aspects of under ripened orange, lime, honeydew and grapefruit but in a subtle and back note form. Its gentle bitterness trends lightly spicy with green tea, gin and an overall tonic finish.
Medium bodied and also playfully doughy in texture, its the moderate lemon tartness and medium bitterness that rounds out the late palate and brings a creamy refreshment to the senses similar to orxata. A medium length finish returns with the aftertaste of granola, vanilla and candied lemon once more.
