Never going into any recipe shyly, the talents at Mirror Twin tackle the experimental Bru-1 hops to bring out even more of a stone fruit, tropical and herbal taste from a hazy IPA than usual.
Pale and turbid golden hues frame the beer's appearance along with a creamy ivory froth. Its exotic fruit scent is chocked full of tangy tropical fruit, pitted fruit, lighter citrus, vinous and botanical character ahead of the common doughy, pastry and honeysuckle character of the brewery's other hazy IPA.
But as the sweetness hangs on tight to the tastebuds, the middle palate shares a burst of hop flavor that starts with strong pineapple overtones that follow with a lime and lemon medley. Hints of peach and apricot add a pep and a playful acidic zing on the late palate before the ale trails to a lemon pepper, green tea and white wine type of spicy bitterness.
Medium bodied throughout, but the beer seems drying a lighter because of the extra dash of acidity that cuts through the lingering malt richness. An afterglow of kiwi and yuzu seem to outlast the bitterness with a rindy rawness of fruit.
