From the 16 oz can in a snifter. This solid porter pours a dark blackish brown with
a moderate head of khaki foam that settles to a thin ring. Nose of chocolate, molasses,
dark roasted malts, and dark breaded malts. Flavors surpass the nose with dark malts,
dark bread, molasses, toffee, subtle char, and dark fruit nuances. Mouth feel is
medium full leaning towards full, smooth, moderately coating, light carbonation
leaning towards the English, and a bitter malt finish that is perfect for the style.
Overall, does it WOW....no....it's a porter and a darn good standard style that
is just what one would want in a porter.
Cheers

On tap at the brewery.
Appropriately dark with a creamy small head. Very toasty cocoa aroma with a little bit of herbal hops. That continues through the flavor with an increase in the hop flavor and a bit of alcohol. The body is light, as is carbonation. The flavors are a little light, as is the carbonation.

Pours a dark cola brown and settles black in the glass with a soapy light tan head.
The nose is primarily roasty malts and a bit of cocoa, and that’s where the taste lands, with a medium, fairly crisp mouthfeel.
This is a “by the numbers” porter that is worthy of a try, IMHO.

16 ounce can, purchased at Evergreen Liquors in Bardstown about a month or so ago. Think this was canned earlier this year but I could be wrong about that. Drank a can at my buddy's place a while back when I bought it and I think the canning date was on the 4 pack holder so I don't remember it now. Served in a nonic pint glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch light tan head that stuck around a little while. Decent amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like roasted malt, nuts, dark chocolate and some coffee. The taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but there's also some dark bready and caramel flavors noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's slick and smooth with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought it was a good overall porter, wouldn't mind buying another 4 pack of this!

Caught in between the lighter brown ale and the more sturdy stout, the classic American porter gets left behind. ...except for the host of beer drinkers that want the somber, sensible, flavorful dark ale without the polarization of sweetness or roast.
Just a porter, Kitten Mittens comes with a standard dark brown color and capped in a swirl of dainty creme. Somewhat cask-like in appearance, the beer quickly moves on to a grainy sweet taste of cocoa, nuttiness and mild coffee. Sweet on the palate, the malt influence is strong with caramel, toffee and honey to round out the early palate.
Its sweetness saturates fully under the lower carbonation rates and allows the sugars to stew on the middle palate long on the middle palate. Woodsy, coffee-like and with a taste of roasted peanuts, the beer trends slightly earthy and bitter with a broad and piny woodsiness on the late palate.
Medium full and weakening in its texture, the beer falls on the finish with a watery cola-like texture. A hint of alcohol brings a thinness to the body but also a dryness for drinkability. A linger of cocoa and coffee lasts medium long on the after palate in a tried and true porter-like fashion.
