As complexity with three hop varieties have seem to have expired, brewers like Mirror Twin turn their attention to... dare I say... four hop varieties! With the help of Bru-1, Azzaca, Amarillo and Citra hops drinking haze with your pals will never be the same.
Like egg beaters sitting in the glass, So You're Drinking Haze With Your Pals The Other Day not only crowns with a dense and frothy meringue but is unlikely to attract any cease or desist letters any time soon. Its strong scent of citronella and light tropicals suggest an orange-centric fruit punch on the nose ahead of a sweet poundcake, honeysuckle and doughy maltiness hits the early palate.
Then the hops unfold on the middle palate and the taste shifts from cereal sweetness and toward a taste of branch ripened tangerine, peach and apricot. Trending classically orange peel-like, the beer's citrus flavors sing loud early and often throughout the session. Curacao liquor and herbal suggestions of hemp brings a smooth bitterness to the New England styled ale along with hints of fresh spruce, gin and fine grasses.
Medium bodied and creamy throughout, the beer's grainy heft adds body early but the gin-like warmth and moderate hop bitterness assist with a malty dry tone late that has the beer trending fruity like sherbet. A medium length linger of verbena, tea and freshly muddled orange peels outlasts other fruit compound ever so slightly.
