Imperialized, laced with copious amounts of honey and then battered with brazen heat of habanero's... man, the little German hefeweizen never saw this coming.
Expectedly gold in color, cloudy and crowned with a loose lace, rich tropical aromas and a curious twinge of heat hinge on citrus and orchard fruit first and then a striking tingle of chili spice. Floral honey decorates the scent of Mirror Twin's Habaneros Won't Make Things Too Hot Because they're A little Chili rolls along with an earthy sweetness, a malty creaminess and vanilla-like softness before trending with the whimsical taste of cookie dough, fresh bread and angel food cake.
But all that finesse comes to a screeching halt as the undeniable habanero flavors bring a citrusy peppery taste to the middle palate. Its fruitiness lay tracks of banana followed by apple, lemon and honeydew which temper the growing heat. Sweetness holds firm and gives the fruit impressions a ripeness while balancing the warmth. A balance of clove, white pepper, bubblegum and vanilla takes an edge off of the heat and softens the spice for palatability and roundness.
Persistent honey flavors keep the session sweet and fuller than expected, but its radiant heat finishishes bright, peppery and minty. The habanero character will prove slightly uncomfortable for those aprehensive about hot peppers, but for lovers of habaneros, this beer will win over palates left and right.
