Just like orange creamsickle in a glass, Mirror Twin dials in the haze about the time that they run out of names. Slathered with the character of mandarin oranges, this citrus infused New England styled IPA uses hops that emulate orange character to hammer this taste home.
Orange You Glad It's Not Another Hazy Pun is nearly a pun unto itself. Running out of creativity in naming rights, there's no slacking in the aroma department as the hazy golden ale swoons the nose with the radiant herbal, citrus and oily scent of citronella. Its pungent scent is followed with a cobbler-like creaminess of cereal, honey and fructose for a malty sweet upstart.
Hints of cream, cereal and citrus pile on the middle palate with a bevy of oranges that range from tangerine, mandarin orange and nectarine along with gentle hints of red grapefruit, lime and mango. This heirarchy allows the taste to focus on all-things-orange while a taste of verbena, tea and gin add a spicy bitterness to the late palate for a fusion in taste that seems of sherbet and sangria.
Medium bodied and flirting with the fuller side of texture, the creamy grains add a weight to the finish, but the citrus tanginess and the hop spices balance the sweetness and ensure a refreshment with a semi-dry, crisp malt closure.
